US District Judge George L. Russell, III sentenced Edgewood resident Travis Joseph Crawford, 34, to 15 years in federal prison, followed by 25 years of supervised release, for sexual exploitation of a child to produce child pornography and for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

According to the plea agreement, in November 2020, Harford County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Crawford’s residence, based on an arrest warrant issued for him by Maryland State Police for weapons-related offenses.

When the officers arrived, prosecutors said deputies heard Crawford shout, “Where’s my gun?”

Crawford was arrested that day and investigators recovered a cell phone, a smartwatch, and a fully-loaded .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol at the time of his arrest.

A search warrant subsequently executed on Crawford’s phone revealed multiple sexually explicit videos involving a minor, all of which were recorded without her knowledge or permission, according to officials.

Crawford was also a convicted felon and therefore was prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, prosecutors noted.

Upon his release from prison, Russell also ordered that Crawford be required to register as a sex offender in the places where he resides, where he is an employee, and where he is a student.
